Abstract: |
An archaeological investigation ( strip, map and sample) was carried out on land at 26-28 Northgate, Oakham, Rutland NGR: SK85910893 on the 20th July 2009 on behalf of Mr Taylor. An initial trial trench was excavated through the southern footprint of the new building and modern made up ground was observed throughout the trial trench of a depth exceeding 300mm from ground surface. Further groundwork for the construction of foundations for new workshops were also observed.
