Abstract: |
Watching brief and rapid desk-based assessment undertaken prior to and during groundworks associated with the replacement of an electricity pole within a Scheduled Ancient Monument (SM No. 23678). The watching brief was maintained over one day in May 2011. The excavation of a single trench was monitored. Two distinct layers of river gravels and the level of the water table were observed. No archaeological remains were noted. |
