Abstract: |
An historic building survey of barns at Little Treskilling Farm was carried out by prior to conversion. Treskilling is a medieval settlement surrounded by strip fields. The present farm was constructed sometime between 1840 and 1882 on the site of earlier houses. The buildings are arranged in a courtyard U-plan with one- and two-storey ranges on three sides of a large yard, and include a Cornish chall barn with shippon and threshing floor above, further cowhouses and dairy, piggeries and a cart shed. Former threshing machinery had been powered by a detached horse engine located in the field to west. |
