Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	An archaeological excavation was undertaken by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) at Croft House, 32 East End, Long Clawson in advance of a proposed housing development and following an archaeological evaluation that had uncovered archaeological remains of Roman, Saxon and Medieval date. The excavation revealed a number of structural features, most significantly a series of intersecting gullies and post-holes, containing early medieval pottery, which most likely represent a Saxo-Norman building and cobbled areas, which may have represented track-ways or areas of hard standing. Several undated post-hole features were also discovered along with various pits, some of which contained Romano-British or early medieval pottery. The archive will be deposited with the Leicestershire County Council Heritage Services with accession number X.A127.2002.
