Abstract: |
A photographic survey was undertaken by the University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) at Leesthorpe Hall, Leicestershire. The survey studied the garage block officially recorded as the eastern pavilion under its grade II listed status. The building lies to the north-east of Leesthorpe Hall which dates to the late 17th century. The pavilion is likely to date from about the late 18th century and has at least three phases of development. Under planning application number 09/00104/LBC the building will be extensively repaired and rebuilt. Because of this, and because of its grade II listing, the Senior Planning Archaeologist recommended that a photographic survey take place prior to any work taking place. |
