Abstract:
A photographic survey was carried out in June 2010 in advance of works to convert a group of three buildings (the Pool House Barn, Maids Cottage and Pool House Lodge) to residential units. The group are all contained within the curtilage of The Pool House, which stands alongside Groby Pool to the north west of Groby. The Pool House, which is now Grade II listed, was built in the early 18th century as a hunting lodge for the Earls of Stamford and because of their functional and historic relationship with the principal property the Senior Planning Archaeologist requested that a historic building photographic survey be carried out before the implementation of the approved works. The archive will be deposited with the Leicestershire Museums Service under Accession Number X.A112.2010.
