The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Between September and October 1996, and April and June 1997, Nottingham University carried out a programme of archaeological work at Witley Court as part of English Heritages restoration work. The areas investigated were the eastern half of the Eastern Parterre, which was the main area of excavation, the garden perimeter, the Balustrade and the area to the north of the house. The results of the investigation allowed a partial reconstruction of the Parterre design, as well as revealing evidence for landscaping and paths and drainage around the garden area. The recording of the Balustrade recorded the condition of the wall and will help with the reconstruction process
