Abstract:
Albion Archaeology undertook an archaeological field evaluation by trial trenching on land at St John's Street Bedford. The evaluation has demonstrated the presence of archaeological features within the footprints of both proposed new buildings and the play area. It has also successfully demonstrated the nature and state of preservation of the deposits within these features. Multiple periods of activity were represented from the Saxo-Norman period to the post-medieval period. onwards.
