Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out on the site of a prehistoric fort at Seamill. Now situated within the limits of a private garden, the mound upon which the fort was located had in part been slighted following the sinking of a footprint for a garage. Nothing of direct archaeological significance was found, but the exposed horizons were recorded and further monitoring works undertaken on the line of a stairway and six postholes for pole-mounted lighting dug into overburden recently deposited upon the surface of the mound. |
