Abstract:		 Trial trenching was undertaken, by Northamptonshire Archaeology, on land at the Star Service Station, Sandy, Bedfordshire. Two trenches totalling 38 sq m were excavated. Post-medieval layers possibly associated with the former Girtford House were identified. These remains were truncated by the 1950s petrol station and roadside cafe that subsequently occupied the site.
