Abstract: |
A programme of work has been undertaken within the Armadale Station Masterplan Area between April and November 2011. A Level 1 Standing Building Survey was undertaken of Trees Farm prior to its demolition. Trees Farm comprised a two storey house and a steading to the rear. The house had modern extensions and had been badly damaged by fire. The steading comprised three joined ranges which together with the house surround a small yard. Once demolished, an evaluation of the footprint and surrounding area aimed to ascertain the presence of any underlying structures as a settlement is shown in this location on General Roy's map of 1745-55. Agricultural furrows were recorded under the buildings. A stretch of wall was also recorded but no buildings were present. |
