Abstract: |
Between 28th November and 30th November 2011, Oxford Archaeology East carried out an archaeological evaluation at 109 Glebe Road Cambridge. This evaluation was carried out in advance of the demolition of a single house to make way for the construction of a proposed residential development. Three ditches were identified, along with two tree throws. One of the ditches contained a sherd of Roman pottery and this cut an undated ditch. The other ditch contained a single sherd of post-medieval pottery. These ditches probably represent field systems of different dates, potentially Iron Age, Roman and post-medieval, similar to others recorded nearby. |
