Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group during ground breaking works for a new temporary office suite at the Cawburn Works, Broxburn. The work consisted of the excavation of 27 small foundation pits (0.8 m x 0.8 m) to either the natural subsoil or foundation level. The majority of pits demonstrated that the underlying geology comprised modern made ground overlying the natural subsoil, although in a few pits modern concrete slab was encountered. Neither significant archaeological features nor artefacts were identified. |
