Abstract: |
Historic building recording and test pit excavation was carried out in advance and during repairs to the medieval walls of the Bishop's Palace. The excavations showed that the north precinct wall was constructed on earlier soils, but little stratigraphy survived. Three main medieval fabrics were identified, and features within them have allowed interpretation of the precinct (and associated buildings) to be put forward. |
