Abstract: |
Four trial trenches representing a 5% sample of the remaining undeveloped area of a proposed football pitch were opened by mechanical excavator. Natural red boulder clay and stones were encountered in all four trenches below a black topsoil. A further trial trench in an area of a proposed car park extension located natural yellow sand below topsoil and subsoil. Nothing of archaeological interest was located. |
