Abstract:		 An archaeological field evaluation by trial trenching was undertaken on land at 11, Church Lane, Wymondham, Leicestershire by the University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) 13th July 2011. The initial potential of the site was highlighted by an Archaeological Desk-Based Assessment (Hunt 2010) which indicated that the development area was located within a medieval village core. A total of two trenches were excavated to evaluate an area for a proposed new housing located within the vacant land to the east of an existing property. Both trenches contained no archaeological features although a single flint core was retrieved from the subsoil within Trench 2. The site archive will be held by Leicestershire County Council under accession number X.A96.2011.
