Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation, by Northamptonshire Archaeology, was undertaken on a 0.32ha parcel of land at Betts Farm, Padbury, Buckinghamshire. Three trenches were opened and natural clays, sands and gravels were exposed beneath the topsoil or modern hardcore surface. Several 19th-century and undated archaeological features were investigated, including drains, ditches and gullies, postholes and a probable pit. Animal bone was retrieved from undated ditches. It is likely that the farmyard has undergone considerable truncation and alteration from the 19th century onwards. |
