Abstract: |
Mr. David Frost of 3 Shires Construction Ltd, commissioned Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd to conduct a programme of works consisting of the monitoring of the ground works, prior to the construction of a dwelling at land adjacent to 28 Shropshire Street, Market Drayton. (Ref: 10/00082/FUL) The groundworks consisted of the excavation of a series of footing trenches 0.60m wide and to an approximate depth of 1.00m, within the boundary of the development site. No archaeological features or previously unknown heritage assets were identified within the footing trenches. Therefore, it is considered unlikely that any significant archaeological assets are present within the development area. The absence of archaeological remains within the footing trenches is probably due to previous development having taken place upon the site |
