Abstract:
AOC Archaeology Group undertook a one day watching brief and a three day evaluation at the Bishop of Rochester Academy in Chatham, Kent. The watching brief comprised the recording of ordnance investigation pits while the evaluation comprised the excavation and recording of seven trial trenches. The archaeological investigation revealed no archaeological remains relating to late 19th - early 20th century Fort Luton. The only archaeological feature within the area of the proposed car park to the south of the existing school buildings was a shallow, undated posthole.
