Abstract: |
Excavations over 11ha revealed a pattern of ditches, pits, waterholes and ponds. One pit was dated by radiocarbon to the Early Bronze Age and dating from the ponds falls within the Middle Bronze Age. There was waterlogging in the deeper features which yielded abundant wood and palaeo-environmental evidence. Part of a wooden bucket is a rare find. The combined evidence suggests mixed arable and pastoral agriculture. |
