Abstract:		 The Archaeology Unit of Southampton City Council carried out an archaeological watching brief to observe trenching for new cables at Grand Parade, Portsmouth on behalf of BT Openreach. The site is within Local Area of Archaeological Importance 1. The trenches were laid adjacent to a known tunnel but the trenches did not go deep enough to reveal it.
