Abstract:		 Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Peastone Properties to undertake a Level 3 historic building survey of unlisted Rose Cottage and garage at Strawberry Gardens in Enderby, Leicestershire. Rose Cottage is a two storey mid to late 18th century brick building with an earlier central fireplace structure with a later double piled extension to the south. One of the back to back fireplaces has been bricked up at a later date and there is no trace of the original staircase. The two buildings are joint together by a shared landing on the first floor. Most of the original windows have been replaced by 20th century casement windows. Adjacent to the cottage is a brick garage of similar date to that of Rose Cottage, a former stable and coach house with above loft. Apart from the remnants of tack fittings in the storage and a possible plinth for a trough there were no original fittings left in situ.
