Abstract:		 An archaeological trial trench evaluation was undertaken in May and June 2013 by University of Leicester Archaeological Services on behalf of Price Bailey Fiduciary Ltd on land south of Spinney Drive, Barlestone Leicestershire. The fieldwork was undertaken as a preliminary to the submission of a planning application for the construction of a residential development, and following a geophysical survey, in order to assess the potential impact of the development on any archaeological remains as may have been present. The archaeological evaluation on land south of Spinney Drive, Barlestone, Leicestershire, produced no evidence of archaeological activity, with the exception of limited evidence for medieval agricultural activity in the form of plough furrows in the western part of the site.
