The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological desk-based assessment and reconnaisance field survey was undertaken in May 2011 at Gorrenberry Farm, Near Newcastleton, Scottish Borders. The work was carried out to support proposals to use the land for forestry. The site currently lies in an upland environment used as rough grazing for sheep. The cultural heritage assessment included a desk-based study and reconnaissance field survey covering particularly those areas which are considered suitable for forestry. Up-to-date information was ontained on the location of all cultural heritage with statutory protection and non-statutory designations within the proposed development area. The appraisal identified twenty-one archaeological and cultural heritage sites within the site. Four sites are considered to be of local importance, sixteen sites of lesser importance, and one site of unknown importance. The majority of identified sites related the post-medieval land-use of the area.
