Abstract:		 Bongate is believed to have been part of an early settlement to the southeast of Appleby-in-Westmorland. The archaeological works are to be undertaken for Story Construction Ltd following a proposal for the construction of a residential development on 5 ha of land to the east of Bongate. These works include an archaeological Desk-Based Assessment and a Geophysical Survey.
