Abstract:		 This report presents the results of a desk-based assessment carried out by South West Archaeology Ltd. (SWARCH) for St. Margaret's School, Magdalen Road, Exeter, in advance of the potential development of the site. The desk-based assessment emphasises the high potential for archaeological remains and deposits within the proposed development area, most especially for Romano-British and Medieval remains given the admittedly limited evidence recovered from within the immediate vicinity of the site to date. The site also contains a set of seven Listed houses and a Listed garden wall which can be considered as a high quality group of assets, although various unsympathetic developments have impinged their setting and understanding.
