Abstract:
Northamptonshire Archaeology carried out an open area excavation on the site of the former RAF Radar Station at Watton, Norfolk. A middle Bronze Age round barrow was investigated together with five satellite cremation deposits and a single inhumation of probable Roman date. A number of pits and postholes were also recorded. This report assesses the potential of these findings in the context of the original aims and objectives of the project, suggests further avenues of research based upon the scope of the findings and presents an updated project design for subsequent post-excavation work.
