Abstract: |
A Watching Brief was carried out on intrusive groundworks for new sports facilities. Natural sands were recorded across parts of site at depths of between 0.40m and 0.90m below surface. These deposits were overlain in most cases by ploughsoil and topsoil. A single pit probably dating to the 16th to 17th centuries was recorded in the south of the site. Two probable ditches were also recorded, these were undated .The archaeological remains are of low significance. |
