Abstract: |
A targeted evaluation and a photographic and written survey was undertaken on the proposed Phase 1 development site at Strawberry How Road, Cockermouth. The work has provided a description of two bridges that is sufficient as a record of these structures. In addition it has identified that: The field bank (Site 9) was probably created as a result of upcast from the excavation of surface drainage on the site. The earthworks (Site 4) are natural features. The burnt mound remains (Site 1) are very limited in their extent having mostly been removed through erosion. The foundation remains of the building (Site 7) appear to survive in good condition and in their entirety, whilst the trackway survives as a gravel surface. |
