Abstract: |
Two trenches were excavated. While one only revealed modern deposits, the other contained a line of preserved wooden stakes at a considerable depth that probably revetted a palaeochannel. No dating evidence was recovered for this revetment but a medieval or early post-medieval date seemed likely. A single sherd of early post-medieval pottery was recovered from overlying layers.
