Abstract: |
Stratascan were commissioned to undertake a geophysical survey of an area outlined for development. This survey forms part of an archaeological investigation being undertaken by CgMs Consulting Ltd. A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 2.7 hectares of agricultural land. There are possible archaeological anomalies located within the south and east of the survey area, which consist of a negative linear anomaly, a small, positive curvi-linear anomaly and a number of small, roughly circular positive anomalies. The negative anomaly could relate to an historic field boundary although it is not shown on any available historic mapping. The positive features could be of a natural origin. |
