Abstract: |
An architectural assessment of a former public house was prepared to support a planning application for redevelopment of the property. The building had been constructed by 1840 and although no dating evidence was forthcoming it may have had origins as a vernacular-style rural house. In the early20th century the neighbouring buildings were demolished and the northeast elevation rebuilt. The building was extensively enlarged and altered during the second half of the 20th century, and few historic fixtures and fittings survive. |
