Abstract:		 CAU was commissioned by Cormac Contracting to undertake an archaeological watching brief during ground works associated with a road enhancement scheme at Callywith Gate, Bodmin. An archaeological assessment had identified a number of archaeological sites in the broader area. The watching brief was undertaken as part of 'best practice' as there was no requirement for archaeological recording (no archaeological planning condition was placed upon the development by the Local Planning Authority). Fieldwork was undertaken on Monday 23rd January and covered approximately 0.26ha in the southern half of the small triangular field being stripped. No archaeological sites or features were uncovered during fieldwork.
