Abstract:		 Archaeological Services WYAS (ASWYAS) were appointed by Jacobs UK Ltd to undertake an archaeological evaluation consisting of the excavation of 39 trenches and 30 test pits at specific locations along certain sections of the scheme. The work was on behalf of Severn Trent Water Ltd for the proposed development of an alternative source of potable water for Birmingham. The evaluation confirmed the findings of the geophysical survey, that anomalies represent agricultural features in the main. No significant archaeological remains or deposits were encountered, although a very small collection of residual flint artefacts were recovered and a possible prehistoric enclosure of medium potential and regional significance was investigated.
