Abstract:		 An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken of an area of land known as The Canons, in Mitcham, South London, for the purpose of inclusion within a conservation plan proposal. The DBA and associated research identified 65 known sites within the boundaries of the study area at The Canons, with high potential for unknown buried heritage assets. A previously unknown and potentially significant rectangular anomaly was identified below the ground surface north of the Dovecot, possibly relating to a medieval complex.
