Abstract:		 The watching brief monitored the excavation of 8 geotechnical pits. Natural deposits were seen in one test pit. In the other pits, remains were limited to 19th-20th century made ground surfaces. In Test Pit 3, however, a metalled surface was revealed which may have been the remains of a post-medieval precursor to Bow Road. [Au(abr)]
