Abstract:
A sixth season of salvage excavation was undertaken at Wellington gravel quarry. No discreet negative features were identified, though the presence of Late Neolithic - Early Bronze Age flint flakes indicated some occupation in the area. A substantial, but undated, stone and timber feature was interpreted as a causeway across a previously identified paleo-lake. A number of soil profiles were recorded and these confirmed previous observations of the depositional changes across the area. [Au]
