Abstract:		 It was clear from the features seen that, despite severe disturbance to most of the site as a result of gas production, significant Roman and medieval to post-medieval deposits still survived, albeit only in a relatively small area of the site. The features probably represented Roman land divisions and occupation parallel to the road from Chichester's South Gate to Dell Quay and later medieval ribbon development. [Au]
