Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out. The evaluation concluded that due to the truncation and/or the limit to the depth of the excavation, the pre-Roman topography and evidence relating to settlement of a late prehistoric date, or earlier, was not identified within the excavated trenches. Similarly, no evidence for pre-Norman activity was recorded from any of the trenches. A post hole or pile of post-medieval date and two linear slots dating to the early modern period were found. The latest of these features was sealed by either dumping and/or by made-up ground in trench one while trenches two and three contained evidence for recent construction activity only. [Au(adp)] |
