Abstract:		 Between 29 April and 26 August 2016, Archaeological Solutions Ltd conducted a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording at Waters Garage, 3-9 North Road, Hertford, Hertfordshire. The monitoring was in compliance with planning permission for the conversion and demolition of buildings and the construction of residential dwellings. The work revealed no archaeological features or finds. The site had suffered substantial modern truncation related to large underground fuel tanks and associated services which served the former petrol station and garage. The construction of foundations for new buildings was limited to piling and shallow ground reduction which did not reveal archaeological remains.
