Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was mounted on the groundworks for a new fuel storage depot. The groundworks comprised an initial phase of ground reduction followed by the mechanical excavation of a chamber, connecting trench and storage tank along with a new manhole, connecting trench and interceptor tank. No archaeological activity was identified and there were no finds. Various deposit sequences consisting of a modern made ground deposit, topsoils, and underlying natural horizons were identified. |
