Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	A watching brief was undertaken for the Western Link Northern Point of Connection: Hunterston to Ardneil Bay onshore cable by Rathmell Archaeology Ltd for RSK Environment Ltd on behalf of their clients Prysmian Group. During the archaeological monitoring, the features and artefacts uncovered mostly pertained to 19th and 20th century activities, natural events and agricultural improvements. A number of features and two of the artefacts recovered likely represent earlier use of the area from the prehistoric to the post medieval period; however, no significant sites were encountered.
