Abstract: |
Archaeological monitoring work was carried out for Southannan Estate, in support of construction work on land for the Glenburn Hydro, Fairlie, North Ayrshire (14/00744/PP as amended by N/15/00373/PP). These archaeological works were designed to mitigate any adverse impact on the archaeological remains within the development area. The works at Glenburn Hydro consisted of an archaeological watching brief during the construction of a Hydro Electric Generation Scheme. During these works only 19th or 20th century ceramic field drains were identified with occasional 19th or 20th century unstratified artefacts. No other significant archaeological features were identified. |
