Abstract:		 Documentary research and an assessment of historic buildings was undertaken at Lower Dunscombe in advance of the conversion of derelict farm buildings into a new residence. The site is an ancient settlement, formerly with its own farmhouse, which was destroyed by fire in the 19th century. A barn and a linhay were constructed on the site in the late 19th century follow the disaster.
