Abstract: |
Planning consent was granted for the erection of a two-storey extension together with demolition of existing temporary classrooms and existing ancillary buildings at Icknield Lower School, Dunstable, Bedfordshire. A single archaeological trench, was excavated, investigated, and recorded. The trench identified a modern service run, two possible tree-planting pits and an undated ditch. Although three small sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from the pits, these are likely to have been residual. The evaluation did not produce any evidence for the presence of significant archaeological features or deposits within the footprint of the proposed extension to the school. |
