Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief on ground remediation of a former gasworks found evidence of the slope of the gravel terrace above the Thames floodplain. Waterlain organic silts, on the north of the site, may have been associated with the floodplain, or the prehistoric Bermondsey lake, but were too truncated and contaminated for further analysis. Twentieth-century concrete tanks from the gasworks' purification process were observed. |
