Abstract:		 A watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of a cable trench adjacent to Roman Bank. No archaeological features or artefacts were recovered. A layer of yellowish pale brown silt encountered across the site may be a fenlan alluvial silt natural deposit, but this was not firmly established.
