Abstract:		 This report presents the results of an archaeological evaluation undertaken in respect of a proposed development at Mauchline Road, Hurlford, Ayrshire (NGR: NS 45552 36212). AOC Archaeology was required to excavate an 8% sample of the 8ha area totalling 3200 linear metres. The evaluation revealed thin top-soil overlying clay subsoil. A boggy area covering the north of the site was revealed to have limited peat formation deposits with relatively modern attempts at drainage. No significant archaeological deposits were encountered. No further works are considered necessary.
