Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology in April 2008 on land proposed for residential development on the site of the former Post Sorting Office in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. Two trenches were excavated, which revealed two undated postholes and a possible rubbish pit, garden soils, made ground, and a nineteenth-century brick-built well. The features are most likely relate to the nearby Anchor Hotel and its ancillary buildings and gardens established in the seventeenth century. |
