Abstract:		 A Level 1 standing building survey was carried out on the steading buildings at Kinstair Farm prior to their demolition. A possible manor site, it is shown on Robert Gordon's map Formarten and part of Marr and Buquhan of 1630 -1655 as well as Roy's Military Map of 1747/55 and the 1st and 2nd edition of the Ordnance Survey maps of 1869 and 1900. As the steading was much altered over the last 60 years, very little of the 19th -century steading survived. J C Murray 2014.
